Wedding Kim and Martin This lovely symbolic wedding complimented a fulfilling year. When Kim called, I knew that she wanted to do something different for her symbolic wedding in Rome. Her desire: a historic, panoramic palace in the heart of Rome. Of course, we found it! Unique and exclusive this wedding venue stands in the center of Rome; the Aurelian column staring it down. Celebrating your wedding here means soaking up history. The palace, former home to high priests, cardinals, and men of arms served as the seat of the French Embassy under Napoleon. The Marquis possessed it in the late nineteenth century. Beautiful ballrooms, all different in style, offer absolute prestige for your reception or symbolic wedding ceremony. After the wedding sweet Kim and friendly Martin met with immediate family to snap photos at their favorite spots: the Coliseum,
Wedding Marcos and Evelina Marcos contacted us to arrange a symbolic wedding this spring. Marcos with his sweet wife Evelina, lovely daughter and closest family travelled to Rome to celebrate their wedding. They selected a beautiful roof top terrace with view of the Roman Forums. It was a typical spring sunny day. Our Swedish officiator accompanied by our guitarist brought tears in everybody’s eyes. Marcos and Evelina asked our guitarist to play “Con te partiro’” by Andrea Boccelli. It was so romantic… a toast followed the ceremony and then off we went to take pictures in Rome. Evelina styled her hair herself, she looked beautiful. I wish I could style my own hair like that! Marcos and Evelina chose a restaurant on the Appian Way for their reception. They wanted something different outside the beaten path and what a good choice it was! The old Appian Way was once one of the world’s most important roads and the most famous of all the roads
Wedding Patrik and Mino I love their story: Patrik and Mino, a Swedish couple, went for years to the same elementary school, without noticing each other. It was probably the wrong time. Three years ago Mino saw Patrick from her car. She was waiting for her brother who was late when she saw a handsome man in the distance walking with a small child at his side, perhaps his son…She recognized him from the school days and for a moment was sorry he was married with a son and that she hadn’t got to known him better in school. A week later, at a dinner between friends in which they talked about dating, there was a friend of Patrik who recognized Patrik through Mino’s words. Obviously he told Patrik of this girl who had been hit by him. Patrik then asked her friend to organize a dinner with Mino and another friend in common. Their love is based on three fatal meetings and what a
Andrew and Sarah 25th anniversary When Andrew’s sister-in-law contacted us to arrange a surprise for Andrew and Sarah we were thrilled! We love arranging surprises! Andrew and Sarah are a lovely couple from England who came to Rome to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Little did Sarah know that not only will she visit beautiful Rome but that a romantic surprise ceremony was arranged for her too. Andrew and his sister-in-law selected a small castle a few minutes from downtown Rome. The Castle sits amidst verdant plains and sinuous hills. The tower, the garden and the chapel, are just some of the things that made this castle romantic and enchanting. Sarah’s comment made my day… when she told me this vow renewal ceremony was better than her wedding! So young and beautiful with four grown-up children. Wow…congratulations!
Wedding Jasmine and Chris Jasmine and Chris’s story is a very romantic one. On a previous Rome visit, Chris proposed to Jasmine on the steps of San Pietro in Montorio church. This church is where they subsequently celebrated their wedding…Following Chris’s proposal, which was accepted, the couple dined at a charming and typical Italian restaurant in lively Trastevere! They loved the restaurant and decided to have their wedding reception there. The restaurant is located in the heart of Trastevere where there’s an enchanted courtyard. In this courtyard, Raffaello (Raphael) used to flirt and portray Margherita Luti, the lovely “Fornarina” for whom he had fallen. Romolo Casali opened his restaurant in that very same courtyard. Margherita Luti, the famous ‘Fornarina’, the mistress of Raphael, lived there. San Pietro in Montorio church is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Rome on the slopes of the hill of Gianicolo. It looks out over a beautiful view of Rome and stands
Wedding Ronald and Sherry Ronald and Sherry together with their family planned a cruise on the Mediterranean for their 25th anniversary, but little did Sherry know that Ronald was planning a grand surprise ceremony while in Rome. He wanted a venue that “spoke Rome” and we found this exclusive location, which was just perfect for the occasion. A terrace with view of a boutique hotel just steps from the Coliseum. Ronald kept his secret until the last moment. When I brought Sherry a replica of their wedding bouquet she realized that the day was to be special and was in tears! Off we went to the venue where our officiant and staff together with a mandolin and guitar duo were waiting for the couple and their family. Delightful music was played. Ronald had his ceremony according to his desires: his family took part in it with readings and romantic mementos delighted the ceremony.
Wedding Rebecca and Geoffrey Rebecca and Geoffrey an “Ameuropean” couple. She from Northern Europe, British origins living in the US, Jeffrey Canadian. Rebecca and Jeffrey weren’t sure between a civil wedding in Rome or Tivoli. They wanted something typical, romantic representing Rome in it’s rustic typical way: ivy, views and an intimate wedding. The opted for a Civil wedding in Tivoli’s town Hall. Tivoli is an elegant little town in the Rome outskirts perfect for couples who are after a wedding in Rome but prefer a more intimate wedding hall. . Tivoli is the site of some of Italy’s most famous gardens, the Tivoli Gardens and Villa d’Este which contain over 500 of the most famous fountains of Rome. Tivoli offers a long history together with ancient Temples and Villas to visit. Tivoli wedding hall is elegant & finely decorated, located in a 16th century convent, now used by the local town hall for weddings. The Red Wedding Hall in Tivoli is the finest, with
Wedding Natalia and Sergey A sweet young Russian couple had a legal Italian ceremony at Rome’s beautiful Town Hall called Campidoglio. The town hall is a commanding sight right in the center of Rome and steps from the Roman Forums. The Campidoglio has a rich and elegant atmosphere with a formal interior, draped in red velvet. I was not surprised by their choice of this location as it where my husband and I were married. Natalia and Sergey’s ceremony was quite moving as a gifted violinist played. In attendance was their family who came to celebrate this memorable occasion. Natalie and Sergey shared their love story with me…they met at university while they were working on a project together. I can’t imagine they got much work done! They had their photos taken at beautiful places all over Rome. No doubt, their photo record will be a memorable treasure for them. no images were foundThe color theme Natalie picked was Tiffany Blue. We were able
Wedding Francesca and Sheldon I still remember Francesca and Sheldon’s request: they asked us for a simple wedding in an historic medieval church. Francesca stated in her request “desperate for help!” I was thrilled to be able to help a couple who seemed to be in trouble and “stuck”! Finding the right church and reception venue was exciting. They wanted a place with history but one that was not too grand. They wanted for a peaceful relaxed location not too formal and close to the church. Well, we in fact did find it! A lovely small castle, just outside Rome, with a chapel and gorgeous views. I still remember when I took Francesca and Sheldon to view the location: Sheldon words were: “Sarah thank you so much…this place is incredible”. I was almost in tears…I am as happy as the couple are when their dream comes true! Francesca and Sheldon, two classy teachers. This lovely couple, one from England and the other from Canada
Wedding Bert and Gunela Bert and Gunela, a lovely Swedish couple, decided to get married in Rome. They knew exactly what they wanted and they wanted it fast! I remember receiving their request on a Friday morning and they wanted a reply that same day! Well…they got it! I may not be perfect, but if there is one good quality I have it’s that I am quick…when I have a project I follow through immediately! I felt bad for the friends that I had invited for dinner that night because we ended up with pizza; but work is work!! Bert and Gunela got their ceremony on a terrace overlooking the Coliseum, with a Swedish priest and in company of their two children Simon and Marcus. It was actually Simon and Marcus’s idea that Bert and Gunela get married, and why not in Rome! It was a moving ceremony. Bert and Gunela together with their children were all in tears…
