Wedding Jasmine and Chris

Jasmine and Chris’s story is a very romantic one.  On a previous Rome visit, Chris proposed to Jasmine on the steps of San Pietro in Montorio church. This church is where they subsequently celebrated their wedding…Following Chris’s proposal, which was accepted, the couple dined at a charming and typical Italian restaurant in lively Trastevere!  They loved the restaurant and decided to have their wedding reception there.  The restaurant is located in the heart of Trastevere where there’s an enchanted courtyard. In this courtyard, Raffaello (Raphael) used to flirt and portray Margherita Luti, the lovely “Fornarina” for whom he had fallen.  Romolo Casali opened his restaurant in that very same courtyard.  Margherita Luti, the famous ‘Fornarina’, the mistress of Raphael, lived there.

San Pietro in Montorio church is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Rome on the slopes of the hill of Gianicolo.  It looks out over a beautiful view of Rome and stands on the site where, according to tradition, the Apostle Peter was crucified upside down on the exact spot where the beautiful temple was built.  Bramante designed the church and, as a result, it is quite unique.

Wedding guests included family and friends who travelled from San Diego, London and Milan were welcomed at a winery in Trastevere.  Wine, cheese, cold-cuts and music were served up. Lively Trastevere, the neighborhood where the restaurant is located offers typical cobble stoned alleys old-time shops beautiful churches, little piazzas (squares) and lots of charm. What could be nicer than a restaurant with courtyard covered with century old ivy.

The restaurant was decorated with fairy-lights, candles, flowers and rose petals.  Included were lovely welcome bags for the guests and touching speeches while the guests mingled and got to know each other.  Typical classic-traditional music was played by our trio composed of guitars and a mandolin. It was a great atmosphere!

Following lots of delicious food, wine and music it was time for Jasmine and Chris’s first dance. Of course it was very romantic…then our DJ signaled that everyone could join in and dance also.

It was a real pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves as they celebrated the union of Jasmine and Chris!  All in all, the entire event was a memorable success!!
